Wired Sussex Digital Media Jobs + Skills FairThis annual event addresses the recruitment + skills agenda, matching currently recruiting digital companies in Sussex and digital media course providers with prospective candidates. The 2009 event took place on Feb 26th at the Corn Exchange in Brighton and attracted 12 companies, 7 digital media course providers, 5 careers advisors, 21 speakers, and 1050 jobs + skills-seeking attendees. Digital Media Awards: SouthThe Digital Media Awards South (DIMAS) recognise and reward passion, creativity and business genius in the digital media sector in the south of England. The inaugural 2008 competition was judged by a panel of cross-platform industry experts, with an Awards ceremony held in the neo-gothic splendor of All Saint’s Church in Hove. Sussex Internship ProgrammeThe Sussex Internship Programme will provide 100 internships at a wide variety of games, web, software development, animation, TV, e-learning, music, film and advertising companies. Interns receive a 30 day work placement, additional training, access to top industry professionals and a grant. Participating companies get carefully selected top notch graduate talent and support in making the most of them during the programme. Women In MediaWomen in Media was originally launched on International Women’s Day 8 March 2005 to both increase the number of women working in the digital media industry in Sussex, and to support those who already do. The initiative has continued with an annual conference and semi-regular networking events. The Women In Media website includes podcasts and interviews with females working in digital media. |

BANGThe Brighton Animators Networking Group (BANG) provides an opportunity for animators to meet both online and offline and share knowledge. Anyone with an interest in animation should become a member of the BANG online social network, which includes details of their most recent meet-up. | ![]() |
