Brighton Animators Networking Group

Brighton Animators Network

What's BANG?

The Brighton Animators Networking Group (BANG) provides an opportunity for animators to meet both on and offline and share knowledge.

Who Should Join?

All types of animators. Casual hobbyists, students, freelancers and hardened professionals are welcome to attend this event and enjoy time away from their computer!

Themes And Speakers

At each BANG event attendees are invited, though under no obligation, to bring their work along to show to other animators. A guest speaker is also periodically invited to discuss the highs (and occasional lows) of animation careers and hobbies.

Past events have included:

  • The BANG show and tell. BANG regulars proved to be hardy by braving the nerves and showing their own work.
  • David Jacklin and Darren Garrett from Litteloud showed off an impressive showreel and discussed their latest work.
  • David Curry of Le Singe Media demonstrated how his mobile content company collaborates with animators and where more opportunities are arising for cross-medium work.
  • Lawyer Frank Jennings from Rawlison Butler discussed the issues surrounding the protection of intellectual property.

If you are an animator and would like to get involved in this event, either to attend or speak on a relevant subject, we’d love to hear from you. Contact us for more information.

Feedback

'The BANG events have brought together a diverse range of animators and people involved in the animation industry. I attended the first event on my own, not really knowing what to expect as animators are traditionally quite an odd bunch who don't go out much. I soon found a group of like minded people who have since become friends who I not only look forward to seeing at the BANG group but also meet up with in the weeks in between. It is great to know that there are other local animators facing the same challenges and ups and downs of working in the field. We share our skills and knowledge, critique each others work, test out new ideas and offer advice and support to each other.'
